To add to this here’s a few things to consider.
1. Cheddar Man was not ‘black’. And certainly not ‘black’ in the way that is understood these days. He was actually more genitically distinct from African populations than we are today and he was closest to N. European populations.
2. Black legionaries and officers is utter cack for the most part. North Africa was not black at this time, yet anyone born in north africa during Antiquity will be called so. The north african aristocracy would’ve been Graeco-Roman and most of the populace being mediterranean in appearance, olive skin, dark hair. Black soldiers would have served in the Roman Army but not in the prestigious legions which were made from Roman citizens mostly from Greece and Italy. They would have fought in specialised auxiliary units such as archers or light cavalry -the Numidians were skilled horsemen. But as shown in that video -no they would not have been clad in armour and centurion’s helmet.
3. Doubtless many africans and other melanoid persons would’ve been brought to Britain over the centuries, stories about black trumpeters and servants and merchants are likely true. And they are made note of in contemporary accounts BECAUSE it was odd and peculiar.
The first major settlement in Britain of africans occurred in the late 1700 and early 1800s. These were freed slaves, many of whom might have served on ships crews etc. Essentially drifters that ended up in the UK by various means. They had a few communities in London but eventually the people of London petitioned to have them deported to Sierra Leone under Queen Victoria. The next major arrival was not until Windrush.
This is a total falsification and warping of history. Yet few accredited academics will touch these issues with a barge pole unless they want to lost decades of hard work to earn distinguished posts.
