Starting with the visitors here, having followed their off season and pre-season recruitment including friendly games, this team look like a genuine side to challenge for the fourth division title. Their recruitment sees an overhaul in squad with new manager Derek Adams bringing in talent that he wants and matches his style of play - fast attacking football. In their pre-season matches, The Bantams have lost just once to Chesterfield whilst winning the other 6 matches (Blackburn, Accrington and Doncaster included with clean sheets). In terms of players to watch, striker Angol and Cook both have scored an abundance of goals (4 Cook goals and 3 Angol goals). Their midfield has some experienced players in and their backline has a good mix of youth and experience. I expect the visitors to score a few but also see few clean sheets throughout this season. Most of their results see a few goals...

Now to the hosts who have not won any of their last four friendly games building up to this game, taking defeats to Bristol, Shrewsbury and even Truro! Not only have they failed to score in these games, they have conceded 11 in their last five - making two Bradford goals all the more likely. Their pre season hasn't shed good light on their targets this campaign and their squad lacks experience. Their attacking threat is limited to 3 out and out strikers (all under 25) and their midfield sees only 2 over the age of 24. Their backline is experienced but ageing, I think Exeter will have a challenging season ahead given their squad and recent results.

By the end of the 90 minutes today, I expect Bradford to win this, even bias aside, the comparison in squad and results suggest a result in Bradford's favour. Bradford to win @3 is good value and Bradford Over 1.5 goals @2.75 is even better. Both combined @4.33 is worth a small stake. Scot Parker’s Bournemouth are a small squad but with Parker at the helm, it’s a disciplined and well managed side nonetheless. Going from his Fulham reign, it was well organised & football was consistent and principled, rarely deviating from his tactics of controlling play. My doubt in this team is the lack of depth, a team that hasn’t made much movement in the transfer market must be focussing their efforts on training the quality they have. I can’t back a win for the hosts despite them favourites purely because I am not convinced at the squad they have, although I could be proven wrong.

Albion are new the division after suffering relegation from the premier league, however their foundations are still in tact with the majority of the squad remaining. In the expectation of promotion immediately, the side have added a few faces to the team improving the squad depth (unlike today’s rivals). On the contrary, my concern is the coach, having little knowledge of him but with a squad of quality players they could win. Big Sam crying gravy.

Essentially this game is very much a coin toss since each team has something that excels them but also hinders them. A draw seems suitable and of best value since it’s the very start of the new season and the Championship is full of surprises. I recommend paper betting this game, I myself want to see more games before I go into hard betting. Draw no bet for the visitors or under 2.5 goals is another option to consider. I will try to catch this game and see if I can post an inplay.
