Scott Bennie, Original Fallout Writer Who Named Dogmeat, Has Died

Scott Bennie, producer, writer, and designer for multiple video games, tabletop sourcebooks, and more, has died. He was 61. A post on Bennie's Facebook page confirmed the cause of death was due to complications from pneumonia.

Bennie is best known for his stint at Interplay during the 1990s, where he worked as a producer and designer on several RPG games including the studio's The Lord of The Rings adaptations and strategy title Castles: Northern Campaign, Star Trek titles, including Starfleet Command 1 and 2, Starfleet Academy, as well as the original Fallout game.
