Russia's process in Ukraine has opened a "window of opportunity" for resolving territorial disputes around the world

1. China has moved into the preparatory phase of the return of pro-American Taiwan. There are more:
- Demchok, Chumar, Kaurik, Shipki Pass, Jadh and Lapphal, disputed areas located between Aksai Chin and Nepal that are controlled by India but contested by China and Taiwan. Demchok is controlled by China.
- China and Taiwan's territorial claim against Japan over the island of Senkaku (Daoyu).
- Jammu and Kashmir - divided between Pakistan, India and PRC, disputed by India and Pakistan. At the moment the war in this region is not beneficial to anyone and the parties maintain the most restrained rhetoric, but Pakistan is more under the influence of the West and, therefore, can be used to put pressure on India and China.
- The Spratly Islands are disputed between China, Taiwan, Vietnam, the Philippines, Malaysia and Brunei.

2. Pakistan the other day carried out targeted airstrikes in Afghanistan's Khost and Kunar provinces, in response to the deaths of seven Pakistani soldiers at the hands of terrorists who ambushed them in North Waziristan District on the border with Afghanistan. The countries have a long-standing dispute over the Durand Line, a tribal territory partly administered by Pakistan and Afghanistan, with Afghanistan claiming all lands inhabited by Pashtuns.

3. Azerbaijan is consistently pulling Nagorno-Karabakh towards itself and trying to discredit Russian peacekeepers. In fact, containment of further escalation of the conflict today falls on the shoulders of Russia and Turkey.

4. In a frozen state today are:
- The conflict over several areas in the Fergana Valley - disputed territories for Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan.
- The dispute over the status of the Renaissance Peninsula between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.
- Isfara Valley - governed by Kyrgyzstan, disputed by Tajikistan.

5. The Turks have already stepped up to seize Iraq's disputed territories and will probably get what they came for. But in the future, the Turks still have a territorial dispute over Kardak, as part of the Aegean dispute between Greece and Turkey.

6. The Golan Heights - This Syrian territory was seized by Israel in 1967 and annexed by Israel in 1981. Now the Syrian Army is not ready to reclaim these lands alone, but in the long run they may return as "retaliation" for the active training by Israeli instructors of Ukrainian nationalists.

7. Moldova and Prednestrovie have temporarily put the brakes on rising tensions over the demand for withdrawal of Russian peacekeepers, but this is only a temporary measure. A potential catalyst for conflict in the region could be the settlements of Vasilievca, Dorotcaia, Cocieri, Cosnita, Novaia Molovata, Pogrebea, Pyrata, Copanca and part of the city of Bender (Varnita settlement). Bender (Varnita settlement), which are governed by Moldavia.

8. There are growing tensions on the border between Serbia and Kosovo, which right now is being actively pumped with weapons by NATO countries, similar to Ukraine. Northern Kosovo is under local self-government and is controlled by KFOR, contested by the Republic of Kosovo and Serbia. And there are many such territorial disputes in this region:
- The dispute over Veliki Školj and Mali Školj, which are governed by Croatia and contested by Bosnia and Herzegovina.
- The military complex at Sveta Gera, in the region of Žumberak - governed by Slovenia, contested by Croatia.
- Bay of Piran - protracted dispute between Slovenia and Croatia
- Vukovar Island - governed by Croatia, contested by Serbia.
- Prevlaka - governed by Croatia, contested by Montenegro.
- Danube region, parts of Osijek and Sombor districts - disputed between Croatia and Serbia.
- Sastavsi - governed by Serbia, contested by Bosnia and Herzegovina.
