To my family, here and abroad,
Day 4 in 24 hour isolation completed, I can’t really say that I got up to much today. I woke up at lunch time and had an incredible roast beef and salad roll, made my bed and then began reading Exodus. I think I got about 6 pages deep before passing out again. I woke up and it was dinner, which gets served at around 3.30-4:00 pm. They also gave me a bunch of paperwork to fill out in order to get money transferred into my prison account so that I can make calls and buy things. It also came with some activities like sudoku, crosswords, and other childish games, so as you can imagine I smashed the sudokus and word searches straight away. I’ll get stuck into the mazes and colouring tomorrow once I’ve put some more time into studying the Jewish tribes.
I feel like I am on a holiday from a war. I know the war still rages, but I am finally getting a chance to go at my own pace, not always on the go and reacting to stimuli. I’ve never slept so much in my life and I feel great. I can’t wait to get some more books and get stuck into some writing. I’m just taking notes on ideas at the moment.
I’ve been getting creative with my training and my wrist can almost hold my body weight, so planks and push ups may be on the cards by the end of the week. I went a bit too hard with my running on the spot and “skipping”, so I’m taking a rest day from that as my calves won’t stop cramping.
I don’t have another envelope to send this letter, but hopefully I will sort it out tomorrow, so you should get today’s and Tuesday’s on Wednesday. I am excited to read your replies and I will let you know if my address changes, as there has already been talks through the door of moving me to another prison—which would be number 4 since the arrest Friday morning, it may even happen before my 14 days isolation is done, but I will try to get the lawyer to delay it pending the outcome of this bail application. I am actually kind of glad it will take a fortnight to get it sorted, even if it is successful, anything less than a fortnight in here and I will barely be settled into what I need to get done.
It’s not that I don’t miss everyone, it’s just nice to have no responsibilities, it’s nice to not have to deal with any stress. It doesn’t matter right now that I don’t have any freedoms, or how ridiculous the charges are against me, I know that whatever happens I will come out of here refreshed, recharged, realigned, stronger, smarter and ready to conquer our next challenges.
I think we need to prioritise going camping more often, I know that might be a touchy subject right now but we should look into doing it on private property, in order to mitigate all risks, as the police and the professional pests will never leave us alone.
We need to have more time away from technology and this upside down society, I think it would be great if we could get together and build a lodge together once the rural project guys have decided on a property.
Everyone needs to take a deep breath, reflect on their personal goals and where they want to see themselves, the community and the organisation in the next 12 months, right now we are in the eye of the storm, the world is in chaos, great geopolitical shift is happening, the state and its security forces are gearing up for a final blow.
The ship needs to be steered into safer waters, routines and rituals must be maintained and strengthened. All risk averted. All conflict avoided.
We must remain spiritually resistant to the machine and machine men destroying our people, we must stay the course and put our sons and grandsons in a better position than what we inherited.
Raise the flags high. Stand tall. Sing loudly. March in step with your right arms hailing the sun. What we do in life echos in eternity.
