Is this ever, in anyclearly non-threatening sitation such as this, a legitimate or justified use of policeforce protocol upon the native population of the country they are commissioned to serve and protect?
Asking because Chief Commissioner of Victoria Police Shane Patton had this to say about the incident:
“There is always a before and after with these matters, and context, and I think that’s important,” adding that he “couldn't be prouder” of the police who had been “brilliant” when dealing with protesters in what had been a “dynamic, scary and frightening” few days.
