Winterhelp Opening Speech, Oct 3, 1941

"Unfortunately not the people I have in the span of my life most sought to establish a friendship with; The British.
Its not that the English people bear the responsibility for this in their entirety, the opposite is true.
It is a small group of people, that, in their hidden hatred, in their madness, have sabotaged every attempt at coming to an understanding.
They were supported by the international enemy of the world, which we all already know: The International Jew.
Thus it was not possible to bring Great Britain, and I mostly mean its people, into a friendship with the German people, for which I had always hoped."

Speech to the NSDAPs Oldest Members, Munchen

"I had the honest intention to maintain peace.
You already know this from a multitude of rallies and publications I have brought out.
The vision of the foreign policy I embraced at the time: I wished to establish close bonds of friendship with England.
I thought the two Germanic races should come together."
