EPIC: THE STORY OF THE WAFFEN SS (as told by Leon Degrelle)
Before the outbreak of WWII, Leon Degrelle, was known as Europe’s youngest & most dynamic political figure. During the war he became known for charismatic leadership & courage in combat. Hitler, said of him “If I were to have a son, I would want him to be like Degrelle.”
Leon quickly rose in rank due to his exceptional courage, & engaged in dozens of combat missions, while also being wounded on numerous occasions. His decorations include the highest honors: the Knight’s Cross (Ritterkreuz) of the Iron Cross, the Oak Leaves to the Knight’s Cross, & the German Cross in Gold.
He escaped certain death in Allied captivity after the war, & was critically wounded when his plane crashed on a Spanish beach, but once again, survived. In the new life he built in Spanish exile, he dedicated his efforts, to keeping faith w/ his comrades, both living & dead, & in passing on to future generations the story of their epic struggle.
