देश में आज किसान दिवस 2021 मनाया जा रहा है। भारत के पांचवें प्रधानमंत्री चौधरी चरण सिंह की जयंती के मौके पर हर साल यह खास दिन मनाया जाता है।

चौधरी चरण सिंह ने अपने कार्यकाल में कृषि क्षेत्र के उत्थान में महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाई। साथ ही किसानों के जीवन और स्थितियों को बेहतर बनाने के लिए कई नीतियों की शुरुआत की थी

23 दिसंबर 1978 को किसान ट्रस्ट भी बनाया। चौधरी चरण सिंह ने किसानों के सुधारों के बिल पेश करके देश के कृषि क्षेत्र में भी अग्रणी भूमिका निभाई थी।

उत्तर प्रदेश में लगभग 26 कृषि ज्ञान केंद्र और लगभग 31 कृषि विज्ञान केंद्र हैं

जाम्बिया में राष्ट्रीय किसान दिवस अगस्त के पहले सोमवार को मनाया जाता है।
