The Ansar Allah (Houthis) movement began an assault on the Balak mountains, effectively the last line of Hadith defenses before Marib. Serious successes were reported.
New attempts to advance at the Balak Mountains were made on December 5, 2021. The Houthis used their firepower and the support of the Saudi Arabian Air Force to repel the attacks and counterattack.
On December 7, 2021, the Houthis resumed their assault on the Balak mountains. Ansar Allah first used an MI-35 attack helicopter south of Marib. The Hadith first mistook the helicopter for a friendly one. As a result, the Hadi were shocked and suffered casualties. The Hadi forces could not believe for some time that they had been attacked by a Hussite helicopter. The casualties from the rocket attack were four pieces of equipment.
Ansar Allah reported destroying 138 Hadi supporters as well as striking two UAVs: the Scan Eagle reconnaissance and CH-4 strike drones.
